Indian airports gets facelift

According to a report by the Arabian Business, “the initiative includes the construction of new terminals, runways and taxiways, which have been designed to make both airports capable of handling the forthcoming Airbus A380”.
The renovation will see the development of three cargo bays at Kolkata airport, and addition to nine domestic bays, 11 additional parking bays and the construction of a new terminal building, measuring 180,000 square metres.
In Chennai, a new terminal building will be built, measuring 140,000 square metres, plus 140 check-in counters, 60 immigration counters, seven security gates, 4 conveyor belts and seven aerobridges.
