Indian arrivals climb 12.9% in March

India saw a 12.9% growth in international tourist arrivals in March 2010, compared to the same month last year. The country welcomed 472,000 tourists last month, compared to 418,000 in March 2009, while tourism receipts climbed to US$1.21 billion (INR5,352 crore), from US$867 million a year ago. For the first three months of the year, India welcomed 1.56 million tourists, up from the 1.39 million seen in the corresponding period last year.
