Two of India’s major travel associations have announced their annual conventions, Anil Mathur reports. The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) will meet in Chiang Mai, Thailand this year, but the dates are not yet known. It could be in August or in October, said TAFI’s Acting President, Pradip Lulla.
The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) meanwhile, has announced that it will hold its convention from 3-6 September, but has not yet declared location of the meet.
IATO has made the announcement to block the September dates so to avoid potential clashes with other associations. Mathur reports that this has been a problem in the past, with associations having common members and blaming each other for poor attendance levels.
