Indian woman blazes past chilli record

A woman in Gauhati, India,has broken the world record for chilli eating, after blazing through 51 red hot”ghost chillies” in just two minutes, Reuters has reported. The ghost chilli,incidentally, is the world’s hottest chilli, witha rating of 1,000,000 Scoville units, the scientific measurement of a chilli’sspiciness. Jalapeno peppers measure between 2,500 and 8,000 on the Scovillescale.
As if her “achievement” wasn’t eye-watering enough, 28year-old Anandita Dutta Tamuly smeared the seeds of the chillis on to her eyesbefore eating them.
The event was overseen by UKcelebrity chef, Gordon Ramsey, who was in India filming his new TV series.
