IndiGo offers new Raipur connections

IndiGo has announced the introduction of services connecting Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh, with Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, from 8 March 2011. The launch marks IndiGo’s entry into the eastern state of Chhattisgarh, and adds to the low-cost carrier’s network of 237 flights connecting 25 destinations across the nation.
Aditya Ghosh, President of IndiGo, commented; “Raipur holds a lot of promise for us at IndiGo. With our high quality of service at prices that are always affordable, I am sure that we will meet the burgeoning demand for air travel to and from Raipur. The commencement of IndiGo’s operations in the city is a symbol of the resurgent and progressive Chhattisgarh. With the launch of these flights, we also aim to bring with us new opportunities of employment and commerce in the state.
“We are very happy to expand our network to the city and immediately connect it to various parts of India. It is our constant endeavour to provide more flexibility of choice for our customers as IndiGo continues to offer them on time, hassle free and always affordable flying experience,” he added.
The daily services will depart Delhi for Raipur at 7.40am, before departing the Chhattisgarh state capital at 10am, bound for Bengaluru, via Hyderabad. The return service with depart Bengaluru for Hyderabad at 3pm, eventually arriving in Raipur at 5.45pm. The Raipur-Delhi leg will depart at 6.15pm, arriving in the national capital at 8.20pm.
IndiGo will operate the new route using its Airbus A320 aircraft.
