The world’s largest travel trade show, ITB Berlin, has announced a co-branded show in India 2010. ITB organisers, Messe Berlin, will co-brand SATTE 2010, India’s biggest travel trade show expected to feature over 650 booths and 30 exhibiting countries.
ITB’s said its decision to endorse SATTE is a reflection of its commitment to the entire South Asian region. It is recognition of the power of the Indian traveller and also a recognition for India as a major generator on the travel and tourism circuit of Asia. It also recognises the leadership position of SATTE as the premier tourism product of the region.
SATTE and ITB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi, where Messe Berlin was represented by Dr. Martin Buck, the organiser’s Director of the Competence Center Travel and Logistics.
“We would like to create opportunities to help establish SATTE as the place where government discusses with travel industry the latter’s infrastructural requirements; develop the CSR component within the SATTE convention and enhance the trade show portfolio by bringing MICE and business travel sellers and buyers to SATTE,” said Dr. Buck “We see ourselves in a leadership position in India through this partnership with SATTE.”
Last year, ITB embarked upon its maiden Asian show in Singapore. A co-branded show in India is a big recognition of the growing Indian market. The 17th annual edition of SATTE will take place at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from 28-30 January, 2010.
