Japan eyes India

In a move seen as signalling that things are moving back to normal after the earthquake and tsunami tragedy, Japan is mounting a campaign to get more tourists from India to the Land of the Rising Sun.A curtain raiser seminar was hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Delhi last week, where it was pointed out that the country was prepared to receive leisure tourists, businessmen and even film shooting teams. Also in the pipeline is a Visit Japan campaign and participation in trade shows in India.Efforts were made at the seminar to dispel the expensive tag attached to Japan, pointing out that it was cheaper than many places in Europe.
