The Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) will request for an end to the CNY250,000 (US$36,600) salary requirement imposed on tourists from China, Bloomberg has reported. The state-run agency wants to abolish the rule for individual Chinese travellers to help boost arrivals from the booming mainland market. However any change in the rule would need to be approved by Japan’s Ministry f Foreign Affairs, the report added.
