Japan to invest in Delhi-Mumbai project

India and Japan have signed pacts to develop a series of eco-cities along the huge Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), covering a length of about 1,500km. Anil Mathur reports that the DMIC, which is expected to cost INR3.6 trillion (US$77.3 billion) will see the Japan External Trade Organisation and the Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JCIB) collaborate in a series of environmental projects. JCIB will initially loan JBIC will give a loan of US$75 million to prepare for phase one of the project.
