Japanese are best tourists - survey

A survey of over 4,000 hoteliers worldwide has found that Japanese people make the best tourists. The Expedia questionnaire requested opinions on 10 categories of tourist behaviour, from manners and generosity to fashion sense and willingness to try local food. The Japanese came top, followed, somewhat surprisingly by German and British tourists, who were tied for second place. Canadian and Swiss tourist came next. Other interesting results saw French tourists considered the most ‘fiscally conservative’, Germans the tidiest, while Chinese scored low on assimilation, being reported as failing to try local food or learn the local language.
