Jet Airways returns to quarterly profit

Jet Airways returned to profit in the third quarter of fiscal year 2009-10, posting post-tax gains of INR1.06 billion (US$22.8 million), compared to a loss of INR2.14 billion in the corresponding period last year. The Indian carrier carried 3.41 million revenue passengers in the three-month period - up 33.2% year-on-year. With a 2.9% decline in capacity, the airline’s load factor surged 13.8 percentage points to 80.0%.
