Jet Airways will significantly expand its international network next year, following the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Delta Air Lines and KLM.
The new arrangement will enable Jet to offer 30 new routes in Europe and 11 in North America, connecting at Amsterdam’s Schiphol International Airport. Destinations include New York JFK, Newark, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Madrid, Zurich and Milan.
In return, Delta and KLM passengers will be able to connect to Jet’s services to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Goa, Kolkata, Amritsar, Dhaka, Kathmandu and Colombo.
All three airlines will codeshare on Jet and KLM’s flights between Amsterdam and India (Delhi and Mumbai). The agreement comes into force on 27 March 2016.
“Jet Airways’ new services to Amsterdam and partnership with KLM and Delta demonstrate our continuous endeavour to provide greater choice and connectivity to our guests,” said Cramer Ball, Jet’s CEO. “With Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as our new European gateway, we will be able to provide our guests with one stop access to a wider array of destinations across Europe and North America together with our partners KLM and Delta.
“Jet Airways’ award winning service on board the state-of-the-art Airbus A330-300 aircraft from Mumbai and Delhi to Amsterdam offers a great proposition for our guests flying to Europe and North America,” he added.
Through the codeshare agreement, passengers will be able to travel on a single ticket and have their baggage checked through to their final destination. Frequent flyers will also be able to earn points on the codeshare flights.
