Jetstar has announced the launch of a series of new services connecting Singapore with Vietnam. From 15 December 2011, the low-cost carrier will operate four times a week (every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) to the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi. These new services will be complemented by an expanded service on the Singapore-Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) route. From 18 August 2011, Jetstar will add an extra late morning flights to HCMC, bringing total frequency to three daily flights.
In total, the new services represent a boost of 78% to the airline’s capacity between Singapore and Vietnam. They will also run alongside the existing domestic Vietnam services operated by Jetstar Pacific.
Jetstar Asia’s Chief Executive Officer, Chong Phit Lian and Jetstar Group CEO Mr Bruce Buchanan announced the new services in Hanoi today.
“This is Jetstar’s 28th destination with direct services to be offered from Singapore,” said Buchanan. “Hanoi is a great place to visit. It is steeped in history and features magnificent parks, lakes, more than 600 temples and pagodas and great cuisine. The new service will appeal to both holiday makers and business travellers keen to access alternative low fares to Vietnam.”
