Liverpool’s tourist businesses are to showcase the region’s tourism offering at John Lennon Airport (JLA) as part of British Tourism Week. Staff at the information desk are holding an event this Friday with a dozen attractions including Knowsley Safari Park, The Beatles Story, Speke Hall, Museums of Liverpool and both Liverpool and Everton football clubs. The event is aimed at visitors arriving in the airport, plus passengers from the north west of England to encourage them to visit when they return home again. “With thousands of passengers passing through the Airport every day, we thought it would be a great chance to promote our local tourism to a captive audience,” said Councillor Claire Wilner, assistant cabinet member for Culture and Tourism in Liverpool, who will open the event.
