John Penrose to join WTM summit

UK Tourism Minister John Penrose will appear at this year’s World Travel Market at the UNWTO Ministers’ Summit. Penrose will join a panel of private and public sector speakers for the summit, entitled ‘Shaping a Stronger Travel and Tourism Industry - Governance and business models for the future’. “John Penrose’s input and insight in the role the UK will play in the future of the global travel and tourism industry will be invaluable,” said WTM Chairman Fiona Jeffery. The panel will discuss green issues; tourism in the political and economic agendas and how a competitive framework can be developed for tourism. Co-operative Travel’s Managing Director Mike Greenacre; South Africa’s Minister of Tourism Marthinus van Schalkwyk; Portugal’s Secretary of State for Tourism Bernardo Trindade and Egypt’s Tourism Minister Zoheir Garranah will join Penrose in the discussions. WTTC CEO and President Jean-Claude Baumgarten and TTF Managing Director Christopher Brown will also join the panel.
