Jumeirah has unveiled a new contemporary lifestyle brand named VENU.
The Dubai-based hotel firm will aim to offer a ‘bold, ambitious, energetic and cosmopolitan’ brand with talks to open the first on Bluewaters Island in Dubai.
The new venture will be headed by Matt Balcik as vice president operations, brand development who joins from W Istanbul where he was general manager.
Nicholas Clayton, CEO Group Operations at Jumeirah Group, said: “This is a genuinely exciting innovation for Jumeirah Group. The time is right for us to launch a new contemporary lifestyle brand. Its provenance and energy comes from Dubai – and the first few VENU hotels will open here – but it is ultimately a powerful way of taking the core essence of the Dubai out into the international market, reflecting the city’s energy, dynamism and cosmopolitan nature.”
Sites are being inspected across the Middle East, Asia and Europe for openings under the new brand. It will operate independently from Jumeirah Group, which is part of Dubai Holding.
