Kangaroo populations boom in Aussie rain

Recent heavy rainfall in parts of northern Australia has led to an influx of kangaroos, the BBC has reported. The marsupials are said to be flocking to new green pastures, much to the chagrin of local farmers, for whom the animals are causing widespread damage. In Queensland, farmers have reported being invaded by thousands of kangaroos.
However while kangaroo populations may have increased sharply in Queensland, the BBC reported that in New South Wales a severe drought has caused numbers to fall significantly. A temporary ban on hunting kangaroos has been imposed in a 100,000km
