Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) recently announced that the group and Kempinski Hotels have ended the management agreement for Kempinski Grand and Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre in Manama, as reported by Gulf News.
Kempinski Hotels will continue to manage the hotel until 30 June2014, after which the property will be managed by MAF.
“Our studies of changing market requirements informed our decision to adopt two distinct brand strategy for two-tower hotel in Manama. We believe the new strategy is better aligned with the product and the market demand, and will maximise the yield of the two towers,” said George Kostas, CEO of MAF Properties, in the statement. He added that new brands will be announced “in due course.”
Kempinski Hotels manages Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. MAF has 10 hotels in its portfolio, including the property in Manama.
