The United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) has endorsed Kenya as a safe destination to visit. This is in light of the first-ever United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) conference in Nairobi.
UNEP director Achim Steiner mentioned that the organization was satisfied with steps the government had taken to tackle insecurity. The conference witnessed more than 1,200 high-level participants from 193 member states.
“Kenya should be proud of having hosted this forum, it shows a clear commitment that it has intentions for Africa and the world,” said the UNEP director.
The event also witnessed the reinforcement of an on-line media campaign – #whyIlovekenya launched by Kenya’s tourism marketing agency Kenya Tourism Board (KTB). Thousands of fans have engaged in the online campaign with the underlining message being Kenya is magical land of diversity.
