Kerala Tourism to tap Gujarat market

Kerala Tourism plans to tap Gujarat market and has been conducting road shows to attract more travellers from the western state. “Gujarat is a prosperous state and its people have desire to visit tourist spots in Kerala,” K P Nandkumar, Tourist Information Office of Department of Tourism for Government of Kerala, was reported saying by the Indian Express. According to him, 60% of the domestic tourists visiting Kerala are from Gujarat. “Encouraged by the good response from the state, we have stepped up our efforts to attract more tourists from the state,” he said. Nandkumar took part in tourism partnership meet in Vadodara, and the tourism board has planned similar road shows in Tier II cities like Pune, Raipur, Indore, Vishakhapatnam, Bhubhaneshwar, Lucknow, Gwalior, Mysore and Coimbatore.
