Kids’ ballet adventure in Singapore

Families staying at hotels in Singapore during the month of May might wish to check out a new one-hour ballet presentation created especially for children.Titled Peter and Blue’s Forest Adventure, the production is suitable for children over the age of three and blends fantasy with a moral tale.Singapore Dance Theatre is set to play host to the production, which was created by artistic director Janek Schergen and is set to run from 7 May to 9 May.The story focuses on a boy called Peter, who sets out on an adventure with his dog Blue and cat Calico to find birthday presents for his mother in the nearby enchanted forest.On their travels, they meet several characters who are sure to delight youngsters, including Mr and Mrs Strawberry, the Apple Blossom Girls and the Blueberry Boys.Tickets for the event, which will be presented at the Lasalle Sia Theatre, can be purchased from Sistic or from the Singapore Dance Theatre box office.Families attending the event are advised to arrive early, as a number of fringe activities for children – including tattoo and face painting – begin 30 minutes before each performance.The theatre is located at the Lasalle College of the Arts at 1 McNally Street in Singapore and can be easily accessed by car, bus or MRT.
