Vietnam ‘s national tourism office has recently certified 93 Korean tour guides for completing a course on Vietnam.
The inaugural training course, which lasted 15 days, was for Korean native speakers. It said they would help to ease the shortage of Korean-language tourist guides and reduce the number of illegal guides, VNA reported.
According to the office, about 40,000-50,000 tourists from South Korea visit Vietnam every year but there are just 30 Korean-language tourist guides.
The report said 40 illegal tourist guides, including 16 from South Korea, were fined and expelled.
