Lavasa has witnessed an increasing momentum in tourism activity in the first six months of 2013.
The weekend destination in Maharashtra received 99,381 tourists in June 2013, a whopping 73% increase over June 2012 numbers. The destination recorded a 29% growth in tourist traffic during the first half of 2013 as compared to the previous year.
Between January to June 2013, Lavasa received 338,258 tourists as compared to 262,805 tourists in the first half of 2012.
The growing tourist numbers are also reflecting in the brisk business that the hotels are gaining at Lavasa. The destination offers four hotels in operations, which includes Ekaant (20 rooms), Fortune (60 rooms), Water Front Shaw Apartments (44 rooms) and Mercure (120 rooms). The average annual occupancy at these hotels grew from 54% in 2011 to 60% in 2012. The occupancy has crossed 61% during the first half of 2013.
