Louis Cruises has signed a distribution agreement with Amadeus. Under the deal, the cruise line’s itineraries will be available on a GDS for the first time. Peter Adamou, UK general manager for Louis Cruises told Travel Daily that the agreement would help agents put packages together. “As we are a cruise-only company with sailings outside the UK, this deal will help agents book transportation or hotels and make it easier to sell packages,” he explained. UK agents will be able to book cruises on the Louis Majesty, Louis Cristal, Aquamarine, Coral and the Orient Queen, which operate from Marseilles, Genoa, Piraeus (Athens) and Limassol. Louis Cruises will be launched and distributed on the Amadeus Cruise desktop sales solution, as well as the Cruise Application Programming Interface (API) from 8 November. “With the addition of Louis Cruises, Amadeus is well positioned to help cruise bookers serve the diverse needs of the UK’s growing cruise holiday market,” added Tim Russell, managing director at Amadeus UK and Ireland.
