Pilots of Germany’s national carrier, Lufthansa, are preparing to strike after failing to secure guarantees prohibiting flight crews at the group’s subsidiary airlines from operating mainland services. According to a Bloomberg report, around 4,500 pilots are planning to down tools after talks with the pilots’ union failed last month. Lufthansa called the strike “incomprehensible”, and said that it would seek to resume talks.
