Lufthansa Airlines Group has revealed that it will continue to offer flights from Germany to Jersey, Cornwall and Inverness this summer, as well as a Dublin service. The airline will operate 13,304 flights per week on average this summer (up 3.5 percent) with increased capacity on some routes with new aircraft. The summer timetable will feature 11 new destinations including Ibiza, Palermo and Trondheim (from Munich and Frankfurt) and is valid from 27 March to 29 October 2011. “We are expanding in all our traffic areas, not just on long haul routes, but once again in Europe, too,” said Thierry Antinori, chief marketing officer on the Lufthansa German Airlines Board. In addition, the airline’s new A380s will be distributed on some routes. “Despite a significant increase in available capacity, on many flights we will be able to achieve our former seat occupancy levels,” says Antinori. “That means we will be able to welcome more passengers aboard our aircraft.”
