Lufthansa to set up Italian carrier

German national carrier, Lufthansa, intends to set up its own Italian airline early next year, in a bid to make inroads into the lucrative Italian travel market, Reuters reported. The move appears to be an indication that Lufthansa may not now make a move for Alitalia. Lufthansa’s statement made no mention of the ailing Italian airline.
