Lufthansa has decided not to raise capacity for its flights between Germany and Thailand, as traditionally practised during the Kingdom’s high season, the Bangkok Post has reported. The German airline will continue with its direct, daily service from Frankfurt to Bangkok for its winter schedule, which runs until March 2009.
Additionally, Germany’s national carrier has only upped its fares for the winter schedule by 3% rise, rather than the 10-15% hike seen in previous years.
Christopher Zimmer, Lufthansa’s General Manager for Thailand, said the current economic crisis and political situation in Thailand made it tough to forecast demand.
“Because of the volatility of the situation, it will be very difficult to plan our business next year,” he said.
