Macau airport traffic drops 7% in 2008

Passenger flow through Macau International Airport reached 5.1 million in 2008, down by 7% over the previous year, Xinhua has reported. The airport, saw the number of ‘final destination’ passengers grow 13% year-on-year to 3.8 million, however this was offset by a 39% drop in transit passengers, most of whom came from the mainland China and Taiwan. These travellers totalled 1.3 million for 2008, according to figures released by the airport’s management company, ADA.
