Majid Al Futtaim Properties recently announced an AED200 mn investment in Sharjah City Centre. The investment is a result of increased demand for new shopping and entertainment options. The redevelopment project includes an expansion of Sharjah City Centre’s retail space by an additional 13,500 sqm area.
The new development will witness 28 new shopping and dining options together with multi-screen VOX Cinemas to further boost the leisure options. In addition, as part of the redevelopment, the mall’s existing public areas and facilities will also be upgraded.
“Sharjah City Centre’s expansion and refurbishment caters to increasing needs of its growing population and increasing number of tourists,” said Dimitri Vazelakis, executive managing director – Shopping Malls from Majid Al Futtaim Properties. “The additional investment will further diversify the malls’ shopping options and leisure pursuits.”
Sharjah City Centre’s redevelopment is projected to start in the summer of 2014. The redevelopment project will involve enhancements to existing mall’s exterior facades and public areas, with upgrades to public facilities including prayer rooms.
