MakeMyTrip simplifies European travel for Indian tourists

MakeMyTrip has announced a new initiative to streamline European travel planning for Indian tourists by integrating iconic experiences onto a single platform. This development allows travellers to book popular attractions such as the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, and scenic rail journeys with Rail Europe, all in Indian Rupees. The platform aims to eliminate the need for multiple websites and foreign currency transactions, making the process more convenient.

The company has partnered with renowned operators including Merlin Entertainments, Jungfrau Railway Group, Rail Europe, and Big Bus Tours. These collaborations enable Indian travellers to access a variety of experiences, from Alpine train journeys to hop-on-hop-off city tours in major cities like London, Paris, and Rome. Jasmeet Singh, Chief Commercial Officer – Holidays & Experiences at MakeMyTrip, stated, “Our goal is to take the stress out of planning so travellers can focus on the magic of the trip itself.”

MakeMyTrip's platform already sees significant engagement, with 20% of travellers opting for Big Bus tours and 30% booking Jungfrau experiences. Over 75% of users purchase point-to-point tickets via Rail Europe, with the Swiss Travel Pass being particularly popular. Additionally, more than 20% of travellers include Merlin Entertainments attractions in their itineraries.

This initiative is part of MakeMyTrip's ongoing effort to enhance the travel experience by integrating a wide range of activities and experiences. Last year, the company launched a dedicated Tours & Attractions platform, offering over 200,000 activities across 1,100 cities worldwide.
