The Little England resort at Fraser’s Hill, Malaysia, will receive a facelift in June, after the Pahang Tourism, Arts and Heritage Committee allocated MYR20 million (US$5.5 million) to restore the 88 year-old resort.
“We want to preserve the English colonial concept which has been a main attraction here,” the New Straits Times quoted Committee Chairman, Shafik Fauzan Sharif, as saying. “We retained the 19th century features, such as fireplaces and chimneys, while adding wooden huts and safety ropes along the jungle trails for the safety of bird-watchers and nature lovers,” he added.
Fraser’s Hill is located approximately 100km north of Kuala Lumpur.
