The investigation into the Mangalore plane crash by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Boeing officials has revealed that the pilot was at fault. A court Inquiry heard that the pilot’s misjudgement caused the Air India Express Boeing 737-800 aircraft to overshoot the table-top runway at Mangalore airport back in May this year. Flight data and cockpit voice recorders showed that the plane was on the wrong flight path and that British pilot Captain Zlatko Glusica failed to respond to warnings from the aircraft computers and his co-pilot. Boeing official said that the loss of 158 lives could have been avoided hads the pilot taken corrective measures as advised.
