The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam in the Netherlands, formerly known as the Westin Rotterdam, has selected WORLDHOTELS as its strategic partner for global marketing, sales and distribution. WORLDHOTELS is one of the leading groups for independent hotels and regional brands worldwide with a portfolio of almost 500 unique hotels.
The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam follows the addition of several prestigious WORLDHOTELS properties in the Netherlands, including the renowned Bel Air Hotel in The Hague. This strategic partnership also means that WORLDHOTELS now features properties in all major business hubs in the Benelux region.
Bill Cross, managing director of the The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam, commented:
“Following the end of our management contract with Westin Hotels and Resorts on 29th December 2009, The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam will be managed as an independent 5-star property. We have chosen to partner with WORLDHOTELS because of its brand strength, global sales network and technology. We believe this move will help us to build on our current position as a market leader in Rotterdam and to ultimately achieve recognition as a leading independent European hotel.”
Rotterdam’s only officially rated 5-star hotel, The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam is located directly opposite the Rotterdam Central Station. Situated in the impressive Millennium Tower, it is just a few blocks from Rotterdam’s business and financial district and only a stone’s throw away from local shopping, dining, and tourist attractions.
The 231 spacious guest rooms and suites are all equipped with the very latest technology, adjustable air-conditioning, marble bathrooms, separate showers, telephone with voicemail and data port, large work desk and laptop safe. In addition, the hotel boasts the largest workout gym in the city, an exclusive Executive Club located on the 10th floor, two restaurants with imaginative cuisine, a stylish lobby bar and seven versatile meeting rooms. The hotel is conveniently connected to the Congress Centre de Doelen and is therefore capable of holding events for up to 4.000 guests.
Robert Hornman, managing director of WORLDHOTELS, added:
“With its uncompromising levels of product and service quality, as well as its market leading facilities, The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam is a perfect addition to the WORLDHOTELS portfolio in the Benelux region. With 14 hotels in the Netherlands, we are proud to be the largest group of independent upscale hotels in the country.”
Future plans for the hotel include the introduction of new menus in all food and beverage outlets and the upgrading of the ground floor lobby and reception areas. In addition, the hotel is the official tournament hotel for the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in 2010.
The hotel can be booked at worldhotels.com as of December 29,
