New Zealand Maori Tourism will send its largest-ever foreign delegation to a major exhibition in China next month. The 16 representatives have a booth at the China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITE) in Guangzhou on 2-5 September, where they will present Maori tourism products and Maori culture to thousands of Chinese visitors. The cultural body was approached by China Southern Airlines and GZL International Travel Service to promote Maori culture to Chinese travel buyers. The announcement comes just after China Sothern announced plans to increase flight frequencies on it Auckland route from November.
Last year, CITE attracted 1,000 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors, providing a forum for CNY 1.8 billion (US$281.7 million) in on-site business transactions and sales revenues worth CNY100 million.
