Marriott profits surge in Q3
Marriott International has reported its results for the third quarter of 2010, with net income surging 57% year-on-year to US$83 million (INR367 crore). Revenue per available room (revPAR) for worldwide properties increased 8.2%, led by a 12.0% increase in revPAR for international properties. The company’s revenues totaled more than US$2.6 billion in Q3, up US$100,000 from the same quarter in 2009. Marriott added 32 new properties (5,056 rooms) to its worldwide portfolio last quarter, with three properties (667 rooms) exiting the system.
