Air Transat, WOW air and Icelandair will all launch new routes from the UK to Montreal, Canada in May.
Air Transat will launch a new route from Glasgow to Montréal opening up the entire Québec region for Scottish travellers. Flights will depart every Monday beginning Monday 30 May, with prices starting from £385 return per person.
WOW air, the ultra-low-cost transatlantic airline, will be flying from the UK to Montréal via Reykjavik from three UK airports beginning Wednesday 4 May (Gatwick), 12 May (Bristol) and 13 July (Edinburgh) with tickets starting from just £99 each way.
Services to Montreal International Airport will operate four days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using new A321 aircraft.
Icelandic flag carrier Icelandair will launch flights from the UK to Montréal via Reykjavik on 19 May four times weekly until November, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Prices start from £380 return from five UK airports (London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Aberdeen) and from £397 return from London Heathrow.
May will see Montréal’s new Au Sommet Place Ville Marie observation tower open its doors to the public on 7 May, offering extraordinary views across the city, and on 17 May a new exhibition, Cité Mémoire, will bring Montréal’s historical moments to life with outdoor projections on walls, trees and sites across the city.
May also sees the start of Montréal’s annual streetfood festival series ‘First Fridays’ kicking off on Friday 6 May. First Fridays is the largest gathering of Food Trucks in Canada with street performers, DJs and local bands every first Friday of the month until October.
