More than 20 travel industry leaders are now confirmed for the six solutions-focused breakout sessions that will be at the heart of the first PATA CEO Challenge in Bangkok next month.
Each interactive session will discuss a range of practical initiatives being taken across the following key sectors: hotels (global and regional), airlines, airports, destinations and travel distribution.
“They will bring to life the promise that the CEO Challenge is all about industry-led action,” said PATA President & CEO Peter de Jong.
“They are the opportunities for us to share best practices, to learn about and adopt new initiatives and to support the innovative technologies that are emerging.
Only through such collaboration can we hope to achieve the greatest reduction of travel and tourism’s carbon footprint.”
The travel distribution session, for example, will focus on how tour operators are changing their business models and relationships with suppliers to meet the demands of increasingly environmentally-conscious customers.
Asian Overland Services Managing Director, Anthony Wong, will moderate the session. Two Asia Pacific operators – Darrell Wade, CEO of Intrepid Travel and Greg Duffell, CEO of IndoChina Services Travel, will be joined on the panel by European-based Jane Ashton, Head of Sustainability for TUI Travel and Singapore-based online specialist Henrik Kjellberg, President of Expedia Asia Pacific.
