Due to the success of the Morocco Champions trade programme which began last year, the Moroccan National Tourist Office is set to continue the project into 2010.
Thanks to a dedicated website: www.moroccochampions-trade.com travel agents are incentivised to become experts in Morocco. Based on the belief that agents who are knowledgeable on a destination will suggest it to consumers more regularly, Morocco Champions incorporates a user-friendly e-learning training program where travel agents are able to find answers to their questions and learn what they need at their own pace.
The outcome is that ‘Morocco Champions’ encourages them to sell more holiday packages by adding value and acting as a true advisor when selling Morocco as the ideal destination to increasingly demanding clients.
All agents who register, successfully complete the training program, and sell the most number of packages to Morocco are entered into a prize draw to win prizes including a 3 night stay for two in a 5-star hotel in Marrakech or Fez, an LCD TV, a Blu-Ray DVD player or an ipod.
MNTO Director Mr Ali Kasmi said, “We never underestimate the role of the travel agent in keeping Morocco at the forefront of tourist’s minds. The Morocco Champion campaign has already helped to increase tourism through trade incentives. Morocco is an authentic cultural destination and we are confident that by promoting this fully we shall see a steady growth in tourism in the coming years.”
