Substantial investment and a series of high-quality developments in and around Tamuda Bay have started to bring Morocco’s Mediterranean coast to the world’s attention.
While it often plays second fiddle to its Atlantic cousin, Morocco’s northern coastline is prime holidaying territory, with a climate that is more temperate than the cities further south, long, sheltered sandy beaches, and the Rif mountains a short distance away. The Andalousian city of Tetouan and the town of Chefchaouen, famed for its blue buildings, are also nearby.
Tamuda Bay, known as ‘The Pearl of the Rif’, is a good example of the development that is being put in place to welcome hundreds of thousands of international travellers a year. Club Med and Sofitel have hotels here, as does Banyan Tree. Ritz-Carlton will be the next international chain to move into the region with a new development planned for the near future. Other world-class hotel brands are also showing interest in extending their portfolios with properties in and around Tamuda Bay, giving holidaymakers a number of options.
Add in the Tamuda Bay Golf and Beach Resort which offers travellers villas, apartments and a golf course created by Nicklaus Design, and there’s every chance Morocco’s northern edge will be become the next must-visit destination.
