Nakheel cuts 400 jobs

Nakheel, the UAE-based property developer, has dismissed 400 more workers because of the slump in the property market, the Abu Dhabi-based newspaper, The National, reported, citing company sources. While Nakheel confirmed the job cuts, it declined to say how many people were let go.
Pilgrim killed in air crash (South Asia, Regional News)
One female pilgrim was killed and another five injured when a helicopter crashed near the cave shrine of Amarnath, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Anil Mathur reports that the accident as the helicopter approached the landing strip at the shrine. Helicopter is a popular way of getting elderly or disabled people to the shrine, which otherwise involves a 30km trek.
