Nepal goes all out to for mega campaign in 2011

Nepal is going all out to make Nepal Tourism Year 2011 a success. Xinhua news agency, quoting a local report, reported that among the inducements, the Nepali government would give free visas to all those visiting Nepal for the second time.
According to the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hisila Yami, the government would be focusing on improving infrastructure like hotels and the airport.
The promotion programme aims to attract one million tourists and these facilities would be part of the development efforts needed to achieve this target, the Minister was quoted saying.
The Minister said discounts would be given to airlines for landing and parking during the peak hours. Common Users Terminal system would also be installed to enhance check-in facilities.
According to the report, the main objective of the campaign would be to establish Nepal as a key holiday destination with a definite brand image.
The government has formed a mega committee to ensure the smooth implementation of the campaign, the report said.
It has representatives from the government as well as the Nepal Tourism Board.
