New airport for Ludhiana

The Bengal Aerotropolis Company is to start the construction of a new greenfield airport in Ludhiana, Punjab, at a cost of about INR20 billion (US$385 million), Anil Mathur reports. Approval from the defence and civil aviation ministries has been accorded. The same company is building an airport in Durgapur, West Bengal.
