New building on Thames gets go-ahead

Planning permission has been approved for a new nine-storey building next to the Tower of London.Three Quays will be built on the north side of the Thames on a site that has been derelict for 20 years. Work is expected to start on 14 April and finish in April 2013.Owned by Cheval Residencies, the building will incorporate 97 serviced and 64 private apartments, three retail/restaurant spaces and an improved Sugar Quay walkway and Tower Pier.Guests will have prime views of the thames, Tower Bridge and City Hall.
