18 Nov 09 (TravMedia.com): The publishers of Australia’s biggest selling travel magazine - Australian Traveller - are launching the Business Travel Guide To Australia 2010.
The Business Travel Guide To Australia 2010 will be an annual publication with all content from the guide being fed across into a specific iPhone application for business travellers in Australia.
“We are very excited about this market in Australia,” said Australian Traveller editor Greg Barton. “For too long there has been no specific guide for people travelling in Australia for business. Especially when their needs are so different to leisure travellers.”
With more than 1.5 million small businesses in Australia, there is a growing market of unmanaged business travellers who book their own accommodation and plan their trips themselves. “They book online through a different prism than a traditional FIT leisure traveller. They are more interested in a hotel’s WiFi rates than they are in late checkouts or romance packages,” continued Barton.
But it doesn’t just end with the handy A5 guide. The Business Travel Guide To Australia will also be available as a free iPhone application. This will extend the reach of the guide, by allowing additional content to be made available and taking advantage of online booking services as well as leisure activity suggestions for users based on their location.
“The iPhone application is something I am really excited about,” continued Barton. “I am looking forward to being on Collins Street in Melbourne with a cancelled meeting and having Australian Traveller show me something interesting to do for an hour between meetings. By placing our highly regarded content in an environment like this we change the playing field for business travellers.”
