A simple new armrest design is being hailed as the civilised solution to ‘battle for the armrest’. The Times of London has reported that the “paperclip armrest concept”, unveiled last week at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, is a double-level armrest that allows adjacent arms to occupy the same space without clashing.
The new design, which has yet to be adopted by any airline, was designed by James Lee, a 25-year-old management trainee at Cathay Pacific.
