Abu Dhabi’s largest property developer, Aldar Hotels and Hospitality, is set to launch its own hotel management company to operate some of the 40 hotels it is building, the Gulf News has reported.
“We will set up a separate hotel management company to operate some of the hotels that we are developing,” said Paul Bell, Managing Director of Aldar. He added however, that many others will be managed by international operators.
Reinforcing this, Aldar announced yesterday that it was signed a deal with Movenpick Hotels and Resorts for the Swiss hotel group to operate Aldar’s new 300-room property at Al Raha Beach.
Abu Dhabi Exchange listed company on Wednesday said it has signed a management contract with to operate a new 300-room hotel project at Al Raha Beach development. This is the second hotel to be developed and built by Aldar as part of a strategic alliance with Movenpick, signed in 2007, for the development of three hotels in Abu Dhabi.
Aldar currently has 12 hotels under development in Abu Dhabi, with six of these scheduled to open next year. Ten of the 40 pipelined hotels are in the mid-market segment, with the majority being five-star rated luxury properties.
