A new tourism and hospitality school has opened in Noida, near Delhi.
The new school forms part of the Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) and will offer undergraduate and post-graduate courses in travel and tourism management, hotel management, performing arts and fine arts.
The opening was attended by Dr Mahesh Sharma, India’s Minister of Tourism, Culture & Civil Aviation.
“I am proud of being an Indian and I seek full cooperation from every individual to promote and support Indian culture around the globe. I am proud of what AAFT has achieved in a milieu that presents many challenges,” said Dr Sharma.
“[The] tourism industry is rapidly growing and provides an insight of the rich and diverse cultural heritage, diverse geographical locales of a country, its handicrafts, fairs, folk dances, music and its people.”
Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studio, which forms part of the AAFT, commented; “Tourism plays a predominant role in the world economy and certainly promotes national integration and brotherhood. AAFT is the fastest growing educational institution and there is a reinvigorated focus on building a school that would bring quality academic skills.”
The new school is being promoted by National Federation of Tourism & Transport Cooperatives of India and the International Chamber of Media & Entertainment Industry.
