Northwest Airlines will no longer offer travel agency commissions for tickets sold on or after October 1 in Japan.
The airline said the decision has been made as part of an ongoing company-wide initiative to reduce costs.
Jeffrey S. Bernier, Northwest Airlines’ Managing Director Japan, said, “As the environment continues to change, we must be more competitive in order to maintain our leadership position in Japan.”
