Oman Air has recorded a 40% year-on-year increase in revenue for 2010. The airline’s annual report showed that passenger numbers jumped 38% to 3.3 million, with load factors climbing 11 percentage points to average 72%. The airline actually made a US$$200 million loss last year, due to the addition of new aircraft into its fleet, which in turn allowed it to launch eight new routes. The airline said however, that the result was in line with its overall five-year plan. “Oman Air’s results for 2010 are extremely positive and we have witnessed remarkable growth in all areas of our business,” said Peter Hill, CEO of Oman Air.
